A scholarship established by the Buffalo Chamber Music Society in honor of the Silverman family has helped more than 40 students pursue careers in music. Established in 2002, in honor of Oscar and Clare Silverman, the Silverman Scholarships have allowed talented Erie County string players to pursue studies at such institutions as The Juilliard School, the Jacobs School of Music of Indiana University, the Eastman School of Music, the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Curtis Institute of Music and the Manhattan School of Music.
